The first wave of hipsters saw young urbanites across the globe wearing their red or violet skinnies with scarves and converse sneakers. The colour:
-For the ladies who are a little hesitant about this trend, opt for more subdued shades like blue, purple, burgundy and red.
-If you’re more daring, go for vibrant yellow, lime green or shocking pink.
-For a look that’s totally 2009, it’s all about pastels.
-Looking to add a fresh twist? Take a cue form the scenesters of the über-cool Williamsburg neighbourhood in NYC (think Agyness Deyn) and choose a destroyed pair of coloured jeans, perfect with classic Dr. Martens.
The shoes:
-Forget the high-tops, which can seem rather juvenile, and replace them with Ked’s for a sleeker look.
-We’re crazy about Oxfords, either flat or high-heeled.
-Fan of the ankle boot? Pick a pair in grey suede for the ultimate trendy look.
-Pointy shoes are making their second comeback this season. So take out your fave pairs from the 80s or early 2000s.
-Most of all, we love coloured jeans with extra high heels.
