Geometry and asymmetry
Get away from proportions and perfect symmetry with 3D fashions that overly exaggerate the body’s natural look. Here’s what’s going on in the minds of some of the greatest fashion designers. Alexander McQueen, Giambattista Valli and Stella McCartney, are all focusing on the hips while Dolce & Gabbana, Lanvin, Proenza Schouler and Viktor & Rolf, are centering their designs on the shoulders. No, the shoulder pads from the 80s are not making a comeback but architectural shoulders are definitely on the rise this season. The futuristic, voluminous and structured shapes are taking fashion by storm. For the less risqué, try a fabulous one-shoulder dress from the Calvin Klein collection, which also falls into this category.
